This movie brings a twist on the usual action movie. in Kingsman, the comedy element is perfectly timed to ease tense moments; they didn't feel out of place. Jackson's character is both bada** and weak, which is fantastic (SPOILER he even says motherf*s towards the end). Caine plays his usual part as the wise mentor/ leader and he played it brilliantly. Colin Firth plays a James Bond-esque character that is the mentor to the underdog (Alfred much? [yes that was a Batman reference]). All of the actors in this film played their roles fantastically.
The soundtrack suited this film perfectly and just made every scene feel majestic, dramatic or bad-ass, and went perfectly with the cinematography. The cinematography of Kingsman is, overall, very very good. I felt that, during the fight scenes, was a bit too shaky for my liking. The contrast between normal speaking scenes and the fight scenes is amazing and the shakiness makes it seem like you are the one getting knocked out. The slow motion during certain hits dramatically emphasized the skill of the agent. The smoothness of the filming of the maneuvers makes it feel like the actor is bionic. During the rest of the film, they emphasized certain parts of the set that gave the entire film the cliche spy move feel. Overall, I feel it was very well filmed.
This movie gets 4.5 out of 5 stars from me. So go, grab a buddy or your dog (I wouldn't recommend your dog, but it's your choice) and GO WATCH THIS MOVIE! Or pre-order it here so you can yell at the screen without judgment.
